ARTIST STATEMENT
I am inspired by the linear movements and abstract patterns
that I see in nature. Specifically those which I find in water, rocks,
plants, and organic forms. My paintings invite the viewer to contemplate
the artistry of the natural world through reoccurring motifs that signify
our connection with the environment around us.
I use both spontaneously intuitive and carefully planned mark-making to invent forms which illuminate the continuity between all forms of life. Water, air, and gravity are core elements in my process of creation and facilitate my communion with nature. Just as water nourishes and gives life to the world, so it also gives vitality to the images I create.
